Aldora L. Barnett, 85, of Equality, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015, 1:25 p.m., at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home in Carrier Mills. She was born on October 17, 1929 in Kedron, the daughter of Ernest Charles and Mary E. (Keasler) Vinyard. Aldora was married to the late John Andrew Barnett who preceded her in death on October 7, 1982. She worked for many years as head of housekeeping at Pearce Hospital until its closing and continued her work until she retired at Harrisburg Medical Center. Aldora is survived by nephew, Charles and Susan Joyner of Elizabethtown; nephew Chuck and Shelley Vinyard of Shawneetown; niece, Rhonda and Tim Oldham of Equality; nephew, Scott and Djuana Vinyard of Shawneetown; one brother-in-law, Edgar T. Joyner of Equality; several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Ernie M. Barnett; one sister, Mary Lou Joyner; and one brother, Charles Quentin Vinyard Sr. Visitation for Aldora will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at the Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality. Rev. Marshall Glover will officiate with burial at Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
